For some time now as a national movement the Free Methodist Church in Canada has been discussing the of idea, of “Unleashing Holy Freedom.” In fact, the theme of recent Ministers’ Conferences was “Empowered - Unleashing Holy Freedom.” This past week I was at one of these conferences, and I left with the thought, “So, what does this look like in my setting in Napanee? And what does it look like in my life?
And I came back to Jesus’ words in Matthew 11 where He said: 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NIV)
To see God’s Holy Freedom Unleashed, we need to draw closer and closer to Jesus, to enter into His rest. That, is the focus of today’s service.
