Today we consider another aspect of our church’s purposes, “Building Up,” Looking together at life inside the church wall as a place where we work together, encourage each other, and build each other up as we grow and mature in Christ. As it is expressed in Ephesians 4:15-16 (NLT): Ephesians 4:15-16 (NLT) 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. As you watch this service, even though it is after the fact, ask yourself these questions, “What is my part in the body of Christ?” and “Is the ‘body’ getting healthier because of it?” These questions, while applicable to the local setting here at Westdale Park Church, they are also transferable to your church and the global “Body of Christ,” made of up of all Christians.
