HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED! Welcome to Easter Sunday, when we take time to remember that the tomb is empty. Yes, on that first Easter morning, the tomb is empty, the stone is rolled away, Jesus has conquered death! Angels are announcing the good news, and everyone is celebrating because the King of kings and Lord of lords has triumphed over everything! And that's all true. Every word of it. The Resurrection is the most important event in human history. It changes everything. It's absolutely worth celebrating. But here's what sometimes overlooked: not everyone was celebrating right away. In the hours and days following the resurrection, a lot of people were confused, afraid, heartbroken, or just plain struggling to believe it was real. The tomb was empty, yes. Jesus was alive, absolutely. But somehow, for many of His followers, life still looked a whole lot like it did before. Today we are going to look at some of those individuals and how the Risen Jesus met them in their grief, fear and discouragement, and how He is still present to meet us in ours. Because here's the truth that we are celebrating today: The absence of Jesus in the tomb means the presence of Jesus in our lives. As it is expressed in Galatians 2:20: Galatians 2:20 (NIV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. And indeed we do, and that because “He Is Risen! All videos used with permission.
